Health officials said Friday they expect a decrease in Leptospirosis cases as flooding has already subsided in Metro Manila.

“Since the flooding has already subsided naturally, the number of Leptospirosis cases will now begin to lessen since there are lesser chances of people being inflicted with the disease,” Dr. Lyndon Lee Suy, Department of Health (DoH) Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases program manager, said in an interview.

Lee Suy said there are no more outbreaks recorded by the DoH in the past few days and flooding brought by tropical storm Ondoy and typhoons Pepeng and Santi have already subsided.
