Richard Gutierrez and Cristine Reyes admit to Subic escapade
Actor Richard Gutierrez and his "Patient X" leading lady Cristine Reyes admitted they went to Subic recently to unwind.
The admission was coaxed from the two by talent manager-columnist Lolit Solis during the "Patient X" press conference held at Dulcinea, Tomas Morato on Oct. 14.
"Ano ang ginagawa n'yo sa Subic?" Manay Lolit asked the startled stars.
Recovering from speechlessness, Richard blurted,"Paano n'yo nalaman 'yan? Nag-unwind lang kami doon. Ang bilis naman ng tsismis. Pati pala sa Subic, may ano. Gusto naming mag-boating nang hindi itinataya ang buhay namin."
Cristine echoed Richard's response.
"Kasama [namin] ang mga friends namin. Wala, nagrelax-relax lang kami roon."
It can be recalled that Cristine was rescued by Richard using a life boat when she and her family got stranded on the roof of their home in Provident Village in Marikina during the onslaught of typhoon Ondoy.
Richard was the first to respond when Cristine called for help.
"Patient X" is the first partnership between the two and Richard has been vocal about being smitten by Ara Mina's younger sister's beauty.
"Kinilabutan ako nang makaeksena ko si Cristine. Siyempre, sino ba naman ang hindi maa-attract sa kanya? First time ko ngang mag-buckle sa isang eksena," Richard said.
The actor revealed that there are plans to tour "Patient X" in the international film festival circuit and that the movie's director Yam Laranas had already talked to some prospective film festival organizers.
"We have intentions of joining international film festivals. After this, may kausap na si direk Yam na film outfits sa States. Hopefully, may market din kami roon," Richard said.
During the presscon, it was also announced that the still pictures used in the film will be exhibited in a Canon Philippines event.
When pressed to reveal how much it cost him to produce "Patient X" together with Viva Films and GMA Films, the actor refused to budge. "Nahihiya akong sabihin, 'wag na lang. Ang masasabi ko lang, hindi namin tinipid ang movie," he said.
"Patient X" is a venture of Viva Films, GMA Films and Richard's R Gutz Productions. It will be shown in theaters on Oct. 28.
