Padi’s Point’s Bakasyon Grande treat

Schools are out and the grand vacation begins so Padi’s Point in partnership with San Miguel Beer gives the barkada the biggest treats this summer with “Bakasyon Grande” and “Bikini Nights ’09.”
Barkadas all-around could now party ‘til they drop for “Bakasyon Grande” – beginning tomorrow, March 16 up to April 27, 13 Padi’s Point branches will be offering all bottles of San Miguel Beer products for only R25 all-day, all-night every Monday.

Participating branches include Alabang, Araneta, Avenida, Baguio, Biñan, Calamba, Cavite, Dagupan, Las Piñas, Marikina, Remedios and Tomas Morato. As a bonus, the newest edition of the Barkada Gimik Pass, which entitles bearers to an automatic discount at all Padi’s Point branches and exciting promos upon every visit, will be given to the early batches of vacationers free of charge (until supplies last).

Talk show to tackle traffic solutions, etc.

“Creative Solutions,” a one-hour TV talk show on Destiny Cable’s GNN Channel 3 now on its third season, will tackle in this week’s episode, Metro Manila’s worsening traffic situation, molecular oncology and rearing geniuses.

Host Joscephine Gomez will probe into the cause of the serious traffic situation and its possible solutions with traffic specialist Tony Villegas, president of the Movement for Efficient Trash and Traffic Road Order (METTRO) and was chairman of the Color Code Vehicular Traffic Road Reduction System.

In the second segment, she will interview molecular oncologist and Dean Romulo de Villa, M.D. of St. Luke’s Medical Center and National Kidney and Transplant Institute on the latest approach in dealing with cancer.

The last segment will be discussion on rearing geniuses with husband and wife Richard and Maricar Gomez and their 15-year-old son Rigel, who was recently inducted as a member of the prestigious Mensa Philippines, the Philippine chapter of the organization that accepts members on the basis of the IQ of a genius.

“Creative Solutions,” directed by Carlos Perion, airs Sundays at 8 p.m., with replays on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. and 10 a.m. Make-up is by Revlon and host’s outfit is by Jan Garcia. Dinner host is Kusina ni Lola Saling.

‘Kapit-Bisig Sa Ilog Pasig’ launched

Launched recently at the Makati Park & Garden is “Kapit-Bisig Sa Ilog Pasig,” a massive clean-up campaign that aims to bring back life to the Pasig River in just seven years.

Led by the ABS-CBN Foundation Inc., the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC), “Kapit Bisig Sa Ilog Pasig” aims to stir an environmental people power with the help of seven local government units, the Department of Science and Technology, and ABS-CBN, the largest multi-media conglomerate in the country.

The launch was spearheaded by Ms. Gina Lopez, managing director of ABS-CBN Foundation, Gabby Lopez, Pres./CEO of ABS-CBN, DENR Sec. Lito Atienza and some of the Metro Manila mayors like Mayor Jejomar Binay of Makati and Mayor Sonny Belmonte of Quezon City.

Marian Rivera at Robinson’s Imus

Marian Rivera’s “Retro Crazy” album mall tour from Universal Records will be at Robinson’s Imus today, March 15, at 6 p.m.

Marian will be performing selections from the gold certified album, including the single “Sabay-Sabay Tayo,” composed by Geleen Eugenio.

Autograph signing session follows the free showcase.
