Nyx del Rosario, currently a BS Education student at the University of Santo Tomas says that she started "fooling around and experimenting" with his digital camera two years ago. Eventually she bought a DSLR and things became more serious then according to him. Today, Nyx shares that she is the official photographer of St. Jude Hospital, covering events and doing photoshoots for ad purposes. Whenever possible, she takes pictures of sunsets and sunrises because to her they’re always different everyday. She relates, "I also love fireworks, night photography/long exposure shots, and architectual landmarks. She has also been trying out HDR imaging lately "to enhance the drama of a scene."
Jennifer Ann Keh of Cebu City shares that an interest in editing digital images preceded her fascination with photography. Today, it is her "dream to become a famous photographer." Jennifer discloses that she shoots anything she finds unique but she is most drawn into landscape and wedding photography. She uses both digital and film cameras.
Kris Fabi Carlos shares that her passion for the art started when her father introduced her to sketching and oil painting. However, she had to drop her pens and brushes temporarily when she got married. Later on, she replaced these with a camera when she got "hooked with photography." In 2007, Kris and her husband took basic and advanced photography courses at the FPPF, where she garnered some awards. She loves portraiture and landscapes and enjoys relying on available light. Among her featured images today, "Raindrops" won Photo of the Year honors for the Photoworld Cup Network, and "Silent Scream" has been selected for publication on Lee’s Make History Photo contest. Both Kris and husband Jon are members of the Imahe Camera Club.
Reinier "Tuts" Panga, a senior software engineer at Accenture says that he’s been shooting "for fun" for just a year. He enjoys taking photos of people, especially children. More of Reinier’s images can be seen at http://tutsipie.multiply.com/photos/album/21/Nice_Pictures.
Law student Ronie Ablan describes his love for photography as a pleasurable escape. He says that he started with architectural subjects, then moved on to landscapes, but now has shifted to human interest.
Jet Lorenz Garcia, a nurse by profession, says he goes "on little photowalks during free days and enjoys taking photos of the vast sceneries and any amazing subject." "I just really like to capture pieces of time and to be able to treasure it," he shares.
Graduating Assumption College student Katrina D. Ignacio shares, "I never thought that photography can be the source of my strength.Every time I feel sad or lonely, I’ll just find a place where I can take photos of anything, then I’ll feel relieved and at ease." For Katrina, photography has also brought her new, humble and priceless friends. "Photography just makes my life complete," she declares.
