Hollywood rock celebrity Joel Madden, lead singer of the multi-platinum selling and multi-award-winning band Good Charlotte is in town and he will perform Friday night at LAX, the Nightclub for a one-night performance of an exclusive DJ set. When it opened last May 22, 2009, LAX The Nightclub also brought over another Hollywood celebrity, Samantha Ronson.

Donn Elvis Yu, owner of LAX The Nightclub said, “Bringing Hollywood celebrities and international artists for club appearances is something that hasn’t been done in the Philippines before and that’s what LAX is and will be known for. So Joel Madden at LAX the Nightclub Manila will be an awesome night!”

Tickets to the Joel Madden show are available at LAX with limited special early-bird rates. The event is presented in cooperation with partners New World Makati Hotel, DC Shoes, Velvet Channel, ETC, Channel V and MAX 103.5.

Yu added that LAX The Nightclub wants to provide entertainment for the Filipinos especially at these hard times when the country just suffered by the onslaught of typhoons. At the same time, LAX doesn’t want you to forget those victims who are still suffering so proceeds of the show will be for the benefit of the typhoon victims.

‘Balik-Bayan’ turns 4 this November!
 
This November, Q Channel 11’s “Balik-Bayan” celebrates four wonderful years on air and kicks off its fifth year with a bang!

On Friday (Nov. 6), for the first installment of its three-part anniversary special, “Balik-Bayan” starts off its celebration with a Balik-Bayan Quiz Grill or BBQ Grill. Here, host Drew Arellano takes the heat answering intriguing questions about Balik-Bayan’s history. And who exactly is this grill master? None other than the well-loved host of GMA-7’s “Family Feud” and the undisputed Adonis of Philippine Cinema, Richard Gomez! 

Goma dons the role of a tour guide as he takes Drew to the place he considers his second hometown – Ormoc, Leyte. Meanwhile, high-adrenaline chef Rapsa Papa (Drew) goes head to head with Waray cuisine as he prepares their version of bulalo which they call “pakdol.”
