Dingdong Dantes’ YesPinoy Foundation launched

After mounting several relief missions for the victims of typhoon Ondoy in Metro Manila, the YesPinoy Foundation (YPF) founded by TV and movie personality Dingdong Dantes was recently launched at the Dr. Sixto Antonio Elementary School, Barangay Bambang, Pasig City.
The YesPinoy Foundation’s campaign known as “Oplan Restore Paaralan” is aimed to rebuild and rehabilitate the thousands of public schools damaged and affected by the typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng.
Still submerged by water, the school’s library which was completely destroyed, including books, was replaced with a new one, together with new books through the auspices of Dantes and the YPF volunteers. They also repainted the bookshelves.
The young star was joined by YPF trustee Quirino Governor Dax Cua and by celebrity and rumored-girlfriend Marian Rivera, who both joined in the carpentry works as well as in the cleaning and repainting of the schools’ library.
Through the support of its two donors, the National Bookstore and St. Mary’s Publishing Corp., the YPF also distributed 1,260 textbooks and school supplies to the delight of the grade school students.
Elmer Argaño, YPF executive director, said “our students’ health is as equally important to a keen mind.”
The YPF’s Medical group, led by Dra. Rosemarie Tagapan, also lectured the teachers, parents and students on proper health care.
