The 16th National Public Relations Congress at the historic landmark Manila Hotel
By virtue of Presidential Proclamation 1357, signed by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on August 13, 2007, the month of September is observed as Public Relations Month, in recognition of the role of public relations in public and corporate affairs and development.
Leading the observance is the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), the country’s premier organization for public relations professionals.
In its roster are practitioners who represent business and industry, government, non-profit organizations, hospitals, schools, hotels, and professional services.
Established on February 19, 1957, the PRSP continues to advance the practice of public relations by uniting those engaged in the profession; encouraging continuing education of practitioners; generating public confidence in the profession by promoting high ethical practice and encouraging high standards of public service; playing an active role in all matters affecting the practice of public relations; and strengthening the relationships of public relations professionals with various stakeholders.
The National Public Relations Congress will be convened today at the historic landmark Manila Hotel with the theme “PR: Pursuing Reforms, The Social Change Challenge.’’ The theme reflects the society’s responsiveness to the call for change and reform.
We congratulate the Public Relations Society of the Philippines, led by its President Butch S. Raquel and 16th National Public Relations Congress Chairman Barbie L. Atienza, other Officers and Members, and wish them success in all their endeavors.
